Over the past couple of years we’ve had a beta version of Crestron Connected Display support for Panasonic CQE2 and SQE2 monitors to work with but now over the summer (in July to be precise) an official firmware with the support was released.
A couple of years ago, we got support for Crestron Connected Display and Crestron XiO Cloud for the Panasonic EQ2 (now End Of Life and a new model has been announced, the Panasonic EQ3), but support for CQE2 and SQE2 models lagged for some reason. But now it’s here.
From Panasonic documentation for firmware 7.218.4.0:
- Crestron Connected V2/Xio* is now supported. Please refer to the latest instruction manual for details.
*Platform technology provided by Crestron - Hostname item has been added to the Network & Internet menu. Please refer to the latest instruction manual for details.

But what is Crestron XiO Cloud and Crestron Connected Display?
Crestron Connected Display (used to be named RoomView Connected Display) is a way to more easily communicate with display products from a Crestron Control System. When using the module/driver for Crestron Connected Display in a Crestron program, sometimes you can even change between different manufacturers without any re-programming/re-configuration of the program in the processor. As long as the source numbering is the same between the two screens, it usually just works.
Crestron XiO Cloud is Crestron’s online platform for cloud management of Crestron products but also for third party manufacturers like in this case, Panasonic.
